Grandpa Wisdom - Great puzzle

Here is an interesting puzzle of good olden days.

Once there was a tough situation for a grand dad to decide the intelligent boy among his three grand sons. As a result of this, he came up with the wise idea  to host a competition between them.

He summoned them to the round table with their eyes tied. Once seated, he described a test for them.

"Upon each of your heads I have place a fruit, which can be either an Apple or an Orange. All I will tell you is this - at least one of you is having an Orange fruit. But you can be sure that not all of you three are having Apple fruits."

"After your eyes are untied, the first to correctly express the fruit he holds on his head shall be considered the intelligent amongst you."

Having said this, the grand dad uncovered his grand son's eyes and sat awaiting the result eagerly. One boy looked around and saw that his competitors each were having Orange fruit. From the look in their eyes, he could sense the similar confusion in their faces as well.

For a long time, no one spelled at least a word. Finally he decided to give a go and said, "Grand pa, the fruit that I have is ....."

Have a go at this and post your answers with explanations!
