Oracle GoldenGate – Extract.exe fails with oraxml10.dll error

When attempting to trigger ‘extract’  from GGSCI, the process fails with the following error code on a Windows Vista machine.

“This application has failed to start because oraxml10.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.”

The Oracle version under use is

Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.1.0.6.0 - Production
PL/SQL Release 11.1.0.6.0 - Production
CORE    11.1.0.6.0      Production
TNS for 32-bit Windows: Version 11.1.0.6.0 - Production
NLSRTL Version 11.1.0.6.0 - Production

When looked into the BIN folder of ORACLE_HOME, oraxml11.dll was available. But GoldenGate Extract process simply refuses to use that.. Tried the following:-

1) Grab a new version from e-delivery website..same issue

2) Changed the options for extract.ext and GGSCI to run in compatibility mode for Windows XP..No luck.

3) Checked if ORACLE_HOME is set incorrectly, it was set all right.

Will post an update as soon as I crack this out.

  1. I guess the problem must be because u are using the Golden Gate installer(for Oracle 10g) database to Extract data from Oracle 11g database.
