Interesting Puzzles and Riddles - Collection 4

This is set four of our puzzles and riddles collection. Very good puzzles that will keep you awake all during your day, if you would like to sit with them. Work through these puzzles and post your answers.

1) There are nine bangles and you have a balance with you. Out of these nine bangles, one of them has a weight that is not equal to the rest. Rest of the eight bangles are of the same weight. What is the shortest number of iterations that is required to find this odd bangle out?

2) Mukund was studying for his examinations and the lights went off. It was around 11:00 P.M.. He lighted two uniform candles of equal length but one thicker than the other. The thick candle is supposed to last six hours and the thin one two hours less. When he finally went to sleep, the thick candle was twice as long as the thin one. For how long did Mukund study in candle light?

3) In Mr Kumar's family, there are two grandfather, one grandmother, two fathers, two mothers, one father-in-law, one mother-in-law, five children, three grand children, one brother, two sisters, two sons, two daughters and one daughter-in-law. 

How many members are there in Mr Kumar's family? Give minimal possible answer.

4) The Kadamba river is dividing the line between Kalpam and Kannam. If an airplane crashed exactly in the middle of Kadamba river, where would the survivors be buried?

5) A mathematical one. What happens when the eccentricity of an ellipse is zero?
